ABS is an engineering plastic, and most of what is worth recovering comes straight off a production line rather than out of a waste stream. Greenview buys ABS scrap from businesses across the UK. Collected from your site, or delivered into our Garthorpe site just outside Melton Mowbray.
How ABS recycling works
ABS, or acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, is tough, rigid and easy to machine and finish, which is why it becomes appliance housings, automotive interior trim, electronics casings, pipe fittings and moulded components.
As a recovered material it depends almost entirely on purity. Post-industrial ABS kept apart from other polymers is a usable engineering-grade feedstock. Post-consumer ABS, particularly from electronics, often carries flame retardants, coatings, plating or moulded-in components, which changes what can be done with it.
ABS grades we take
- Injection moulding scrap Off-spec parts, sprues and runners. Near-virgin when kept apart.
- Sheet and fabrication offcuts Clean extruded sheet waste and trim.
- Purgings and lump Dense blocks from moulder and extruder changeovers.
- ABS regrind Single-polymer regrind, by arrangement, subject to specification.
